One Enchanted Evening

Spencer turned 17 last month. and that called for a celebration!  Fortunately his aunt, who has a knack for throwing a party, was in town.  

She brought some of her own party things and we scrounged through what we had at home.

With her special touch, we fixed up the backyard to look quite elegant.  One party guest even commented that it was exactly how her sister wanted her wedding reception to look!

Spencer loves cheese.  So we served a variety of fruits and cheeses with other goodies to nibble on.

It was a little bit cloudy, which added to the ambiance.

It was really an elegant affair.

The guests lingered over the food for a while.

Our raspberries were still in season.

Fresh garden basil too, but the tomatoes were not yet our own.

They had a great time.

Not sure how we will top this party next year.

We will definitely need to bring back Naomi.

They finished off the meal with a home-made ice cream sandwich.
