Climbing South Sister

This is South Sister.  Karl and Spencer were among the 11 (out of 20) who made it to the top.  It was six hours of uphill climbing to get to the top and three hours of downhill hiking to get back down.

They camped on Elk Lake with views of South Sister.

They spent one day mountain biking near Bend, Oregon.

They beat the heat (106 degrees!) by kayaking and swimming in Elk Lake.

The camera only made it out of the bag while in camp, but they white water rafted on the Deschutes River.
And they were glad to make it home to their beds after a week with 15 scouts.
