We Love Fort Worden!

We are back from our 10th trip to Fort Worden. We haven't been in five years so it's been awhile. This was the medical personnel's living quarters. We had the upper right apartment. The last time we stayed in this home Spencer was one month old.
This was one of our best ever trips weather-wise. It was absolutely perfect on the beach! We have sat on this beach in sprinkles and sweatshirts mid summer many times.

Going to the beach has always meant digging a hole to Mason.

Fort Worden has the softest sand in all of the Puget Sound beaches. We buried Lauren to keep her warm. Since she lives in the basement, she is always cold.

We found some clay up near the sand dunes. Spence softened it up and sculpted Mt. Baker which we could see across the Sound.

We checked out this house. It can sleep 23 people and has 7 showers. Mason and Spencer think we should do a Merrill 2009 family reunion here. Check out http://www.parks.wa.gov/fortworden/ for more info.

We brought our flashlight so we could check out the WW I bunkers.

We walked through the tunnels too.

This bluff looks down on Ft. Worden and the beach.

We brought all this stuff for one night? How we will pack everything Lauren wants for school and all of us next week?
