Spencer had an early dismissal day and the weatherman was predicting 80 degrees, so we picked him up from school and headed for the Olympics.
We had a picnic lunch on the drive along the Hood Canal.
The hike was a mere two-and-half miles one direction, but the elevation gain was close to 1,300 feet.
Fortunately we were the only ones who decided to go on a Thursday.
Karl and Lauren had backpacked in a spent two days there years ago. He has always wanted to go back to take the rest of us.
It was almost warm enough to swim, but we didn't.
Mason was trying out his camera skills and captured this lovely moment.
