Dewey Lakes

Spence and Karl hiked into the Dewey Lakes on Friday. They are two lakes situated on the Pacific Crest Trail next to Mt. Rainier.

They hiked through snow and sunshine. They found huckleberries and wild flowers.

They needed warm jackets and short sleeves.

I like these pictures because you have to look into the lake to see the mountain.

That is a rock -- not a shark lurking in the lower corner.

They sunbathed on the rocks.

This bridge is the end of their hike.

The picture below is actually sunrise. They hiked in by flashlight in the dark.

I should acknowledge that these photos were taken by our scoutmaster. Our camping camera died.
