Karl and Mason spent a week on a scout high adventure 50-mile canoe trip. Here are their rowing buddies getting ready to push off.

They claim it was hard work, but some of the pictures look pretty relaxing.

They started out in the Cascades on Diablo Lake. Then they had to portage and put in at Ross Lake.

The mountains on both sides caused some stiff afternoon winds which Mason is taking advantage of here.

The winds were nice going one direction but they had to get up early to avoid them coming home.

They carried all their gear AND food in their boats. They did not have any support drivers following them. So, meals were a little creative.

The scenery was incredible.

They said it is so beautiful they want to take all of us back.

We have had a very cool, cloudy summer. They were lucky to have such perfect sunny days.

Some of rivers running into the lake had waterfalls.

After a day of rowing, who has energy to set up a tent? The guys just slept on the dock.

The end point: Canada. They rowed in and walked around a bit. It looks the same as our side of the lake.
