Snow Camping

Mason and his scout troop went on a winter camp out to Mt. Rainier over Presidents' Break. They rented snow shoes to hike into their camp site.

They camped on 109 inches of snow -- although it's a low snow level year this year.

They had a clear day with beautiful views as they hiked in.

This is a frozen lake they hiked around and then got brave and hiked on it too!

Mt. Rainier with a cloud that looks like steam or snow blowing off it.

They hiked straight up to the top of this steep hill.

It got down to 15 degrees at night and they were not allowed to build a fire!

Next trip they are going to build and sleep in their own igloos.
