Spencer and I spent Friday on a field trip to Kopachuck State Park. It is a beach on the Sound about 15 minutes from the school. He is currently learning about sea life and we saw lots of it!

Spencer standing on a bed of sand dollars. They were so plentiful you could not walk without crunching them!
This is a moon snail. He has a raisor-sharp foot with which he can actually bore a hole through a shell to extract a meal. He is a carnivore! Learn more: http://www.naturepark.com/msnail.htm
Spencer is holding the eggs of a moon snail. They look like crusty chunks of sand.

We found lots of sunflower starfish!
